A Hebridean Redshank

Not being a naturally gifted photographer, I can’t resist getting a little carried away when I finally manage to take pictures that I’m pleased with. I saw these two on the machair near Balephetrish on Tiree and simply had to wind down the window and press the clicker – yet another triumph for the idle bastard’s school of photography.

Redshank never get the attention they deserve – nobody is ever interested in a bird that is brown and speckled (unless it has a hooked beak), but these delicate, noisy little birds really do warrant close scrutiny. More to follow on redshank…

  1. Excellent image Patrick, I look forward to the next installment regarding the Redshank – a real character of a bird.
