The Ginger Grouse is a new pseudo-alcopop produced by Matthew Gloag, the distillers who brought you the Famous Grouse and the Black Grouse whisky. Matthew Gloag distillery belongs to “The Edrington Group” which hangs around with the RSPB far too much for its own good. I’ve posted on why shooting folk should avoid Famous Grouse in the past, given its failure to back the sport upon which it depended during its early years, but couldn’t resist trying the new tipple when it appeared on the supermarket shelf before me this evening.
It would be petty to allow politics to obscure an objective opinion. The reason why I won’t be drinking The Ginger Grouse again has nothing to do with the Edrington Group.
I won’t be drinking it again because it’s thoroughly disgusting.
